First Haiku Collection

The joy of writing haiku is something I have only recently discovered. I find it challenging and rather addictive. I hope you will enjoy this small sample of my work along with  the photos that inspired the words.

Sunbeams reflected in the sand at Tunstall East Yorkshire

Embrace the moment,
Sunbeams darting light and free
Will you dance with me?

Waves crashing on the rocks at Paull East Yorkshire

Waiting for the day
Silver sun and clouds embrace
Then merge into one.

Twilight view of Paull Nature Reserve East Yorkshire

Midnight blue whirlpool
Exploring innermost thoughts,
Imagination.

Reflections of trees at Stoney Creek, East Yorkshire

Wild monochrome trees
Dissolving into charcoal
Reflections and reeds.

Golden sunset over the River Humber at Paull East Yorkshire

Let me embrace your
Golden rays to carry me
Into a new day.

View from the cliff at Hilston East Yorkshire

Sky and sea merging
Into blue infinity,
Unfathomable.

Row of trees and a fiery sunset sky at Keyingham East Yorkshire

Remnants of the fire
Dissolve into smoky clouds,
Blankets of darkness.

Paull lighthouse, East Yorkshire

Weather beaten light
Beam through changing tides and night,
Guide me safely home.

Paull Nature Reserve East Yorkshire in the winter

Through a snow-tinged breeze
Synchronised feathery reeds
Dance into the night.

Sunrise over the fields in Burstwick East Yorkshire

The sun is rising
Offering me pink and gold
Shades of acceptance.

Brilliant!! They go so well with the pictures too. Very elemental (fire/air/earth/water).
